How to Feel 20 After You’re 40 Part 1

This is Part 1 of a 4 Part Series on How to Feel Like You’re 20… After 40. If you know anybody that needs to hear this message, pass it on!

So I was at the grocery store the other day and while I was getting whatever I went in there for, I must have passed 4 or 5 men anywhere from 45 to 55 years old. And I could just tell they were struggling.

Now you might be wondering why I made that assumption. And the answer is, from their Body Language.

See, you can tell so much about a person by the way they carry themselves, their eyes, their expression, the way they walk… their body composition… even if they’re wearing a mask.

Because your mouth can lie, but your body language always tells the truth.

And that was 4 or 5 men in that one grocery store, in that one small suburb of St. Louis. So when you think about it like that, you realize just how many men like that are out there. Ten’s of thousands, from coast to coast.

But you can’t just walk up to someone and say, “Hey buddy, I see you’re struggling. And I think I can help.”

Because that puts people on the defensive. They put their guard up. They tell you what they think they’re supposed to say instead of what they actually feel.

I’m fine. No problem here. Healthy as a horse.

And it’s all bullshit.

But with your help, this four part video series can talk to each and every one of them. It can talk some sense into them. It can literally change their life.

So forward, share, email, instant message… whatever you have to do, but send this video to every man over the age of 40 that has allowed himself to become physically and mentally complacent.

Because their best days are right now. The kids are grown, decades of work have hopefully allowed for a little extra money in the bank account… there are fewer responsibilities and more recourses.

This, right now, is when you really start living. And you can’t do that if you’re not healthy.

This isn’t a bashing session, nobody’s being judgmental. This comes from the heart. This comes from a 53 year old man that weighed almost 400 pounds less than 3 years ago. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic, low self-esteem, low energy, decreased libido, persistent injuries, you name it.

And as each condition entered my life, it became my “New Normal”. I accepted it because I didn’t think I had a choice. I justified it by telling myself I was merely getting older. And when you get older, shit happens.

And while your circumstances might not be as serious as mine once were, the silver lining, in all of this, is if we could turn my mess around, imagine what we could do with you.

But the first thing I need you to do is accept the fact that you don’t have to live this way. Because when we accept things, we no longer strive to change them. We become complacent. We stop trying to be better.

So here’s the part of the video where the Straight Talk begins. Here’s where the conversation becomes awkward.

Because regardless of the excuses you have, the jokes you make, the way you pretend like the snide remarks from others don’t affect you… they do matter. You know they matter.

And your self esteem gets chipped away, piece by piece, brick by brick… until you’re just emotionally holding yourself together with a couple of paper clips some chewing gum. A façade. A lie.

You don’t feel good. You don’t have the energy you once had. You don’t look the way you want to look. You don’t perform physically or mentally at the top of your game. And while you’re never going to feel 20 again, you certainly don’t have to feel 50 either.

So how do you fix it? How do you change years or even decades of neglect?

There are four parts to this series; and here they are in the order of importance.

One Hormones, Two Diet, Three Sleep, and Four Exercise.

So this video is going to start off with number one, Hormones.

And the reason for that is without fixing your hormones first, nothing you do is going to make a substantial impact on any one of the other three.

Your hormones control everything. They tell your body what to do. If we make this analogous to building a house, hormones are your foundation. And if the foundation isn’t solid, it’s just a matter of time before the entire structure collapses.

So what hormone makes a man a man? It’s testosterone. And as you age, your body produces less and less of it. You start to gain weight, you have less energy, you have less muscle, you’re mentally not as sharp, your libido decreases, your sexual performance becomes compromised.

And didn’t I just say this is the age where you get to start living? How in the hell can you do that if you’re letting your body die?

Make no mistake about it, that’s what you’re doing. You’re letting your body get old.

So to stop that from happening, you give your body what it’s deficient in. This isn’t rocket science.

Listen, if you’re diabetic, it’s because your body doesn’t produce enough  insulin. So how do you fix it? You inject insulin to supplement the body’s own production.

Don’t make this harder than it needs to be.

It’s the same thing with Testosterone Replacement Therapy, also know as TRT. You take exogenous Testosterone to supplement your body’s inadequate production.

So why isn’t everybody doing this? Why wouldn’t someone want to?

I put a post out on social media asking this exact question. I asked people why they had an issue with TRT when it could clearly change their life. And a few of the responses were.

Number One. I don’t want to do steroids.

Which has to be the biggest misconception out there.

Because your body makes testosterone on its own. How can you have an aversion to a hormone your body makes every day? It just no longer makes enough of it.

It’s not steroids. It’s a bioidentical hormone that your body doesn’t even know it didn’t produce on its own.

Number Two. My doctor says I’m the normal Testosterone range for my age.

Well, your doctor’s not the one running around overweight, depressed, and impotent, is he? The “normal ranges” on lab tests are ridiculously low. And here’s what I’ll tell you. If you’re testosterone levels are under 550, you’re low. And you’re going to have problems until you get it fixed.

Number Three. I don’t like needles.

You don’t need needles. Admittedly that’s the most effective solution, but there are creams to rub on your body and even medications you take orally.

Needles are not a requirement.

Number Four. I don’t want to get too big.

First of all you don’t just take testosterone and wake up as the Hulk a month later.

And you’re not doing body builder doses anyway. You’re taking therapeutic doses. Which means you’re taking enough to bring your levels back to where they were in your early 20’s.

This isn’t something your body has never seen. It just hasn’t seen it in decades.

Number Five. It’s unhealthy.

I’ll give you the fact that up until about 5 years ago, that was a common misconception. But more recent studies have all proven the exact opposite.

Do you know how many doctors send us patients? Do you know how many cardiologists send us their patients for the specific purpose of getting their hormones fixed so they can become healthy again?

If your doctor tells you Testosterone Replacement Therapy is unhealthy. And if he or she doesn’t have a specific medical condition to support that claim, your doctor is grossly misinformed.

Plain and simple.

I am 100 times healthier today on TRT than I’ve been in decades. And so are thousands of other Viking patients all across the United States.

So I’m not going to get into every single reason people gave. Because I don’t think those explanations are true anyway. I think they’re nothing but excuses.

I believe what’s really going on is people are afraid they’re going to have to give up certain guilty pleasures. And they don’t want to.

They’d rather slowly and methodically let their mind and bodies decay rather than make a few lifestyle changes. And if I’m being honest, if you’re being honest, how selfish is that?

Forget selfish. How stupid is that?

You don’t have to give up food. You can have a few drinks when you’re out. You don’t have to exercise for hours every day.

Small changes. That’s all that’s necessary. And I promise you, the difference in how you feel and perform will make it all worth the effort.

So fixing your hormones. It’s the first step in changing your life, feeling better, getting your self-confidence back, and returning to the man you were decades ago.

And there are no shortcuts, no substitutions, no magic pills, no magic diets…

There’s a roadmap. There’s a solution. There’s a process.
