Reply To: Is Phlebotomy Necessary on TRT?

Just recently my hematocrit was 54 which is approaching the upper limit. I was donating every 56 days and sometimes would do the double-reds but by the time it was time to donate again I would still be high. My doctor gave me a prescription as Sam mentioned previously which allows me to go in and donate blood weekly if I’d like to as long as my hematocrit is above 39. In a month and a half with 5 whole blood donations I went from 54 down to 43. I feel much better at the lower level and I’ve reduced my overall associated health risks by donating. It seems as though each donation was reducing my hematocrit by approximately 3 points.
